Filip Kricka joins the Drexel coaching staff in 2010 after a successful playing and coaching career at Stetson University in DeLand, Fla. Kricka was a First Team All-Conference player for the Hatters and also garnered a number of academic accolades during his time at Stetson.
After graduating with a degree in integrated health science, Kricka served as a volunteer assistant coach at Stetson. Kricka has also honed his skills as an instructor while working as a tennis professional at The Club of Riverdale in New York and the assistant tennis professional at the Cloveleigh Club in Rye, N.Y. His background as a student-athlete and instructor of the game will be important assets on the Drexel coaching staff this season.
Kricka, who hails from Umag, Croatia, began his collegiate playing career as a member of South Alabama’s nationally ranked tennis team. After competing in Mobile, Ala. For the 2005-06 season, Kricka transferred to Stetson where he was a Second Team All-Atlantic Sun selection in 2007 and a member of the All-Academic First Team in 2008. As a senior in 2009, Kricka served as a team captain while playing his way to First Team All-Conference honors and a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
At Drexel Kricka will assist Head Coach Tricia Udicious with all aspects of on-court coaching and day-to-day operations of the tennis office. He will be primarily working with the men’s team throughout the season. Kricka is also pursuing a master’s of business administration with a concentration in finance.
