Walter Halas served in many capacities during his seasons as a coach and an administrator at Drexel. Halas was the director of athletics at the school for 15 seasons.
Halas was the head coach for three different teams at Drexel. He coached the football team for 15 years. Under his guidance, the Dragons compiled a 71-44-10 record. He coached the baseball team for 13 years and the basketball team for seven years at Drexel.
