Dragons Vie For Seventh Straight Win Tonight at Towson

Towson, Md. - Drexel will travel to play Towson for the first time this season in a 7:00 p.m. tip tonight in Maryland. The Dragons (14-6) are riding a six-game winning streak into the contest and looking to stay atop the CAA standings with an 8-1 conference record entering the game. Towson is 9-11 overall and 3-6 in CAA play following a pair of losses to Delaware and James Madison last week. 

Led by CAA Co-Player of the Week Gabriela Marginean's 20 points and a gutty last-second shot by Marisa Crane, the Dragons pulled out their third overtime win of the season, and second straight over Delaware, 60-58 on Sunday at the DAC. In front of a capacity crowd of 2,532 the Dragons overcame a late deficit with a long three-pointer by Jasmina Rosseel in the final moments of regulation before Crane's shot swished in with three seconds left in overtime to give Drexel its 18th straight home win. 

Towson lost its third straight game on Sunday aganst James Madison, 67-35. the Tigers shot just 19 percent in the game and were outscored 34-15 in the first half. Shanae Baker-Brice, the team's All-CAA guard, led the squad with 13 points. Drexel is 37-17 all-time against Towson. Drexel swept the Tigers in three games last season, including a win in the quarterfinals of the CAA Tournament.

Women's Soccer

Ashley Klun scored the game-winning goal for Drexel in a 1-0 win over UMBC in the women's soccer season opener at Vidas Field. Klun netted her first strike of the season with less than seven minutes left in the contest.
