Cal Named CAA Men's Rookie Diver of the Year

Philadelphia - Drexel freshman Stephen Cal was named the Colonial Athletic Association Rookie Diver of the Year in a vote by the conference's head coaches. Cal is the latest in a long line of highly recruited divers that Diving Head Coach Larry May has brought to Drexel in the hopes of capturing NCAA berths.
Cal was the only freshman to reach the finals of both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events at the 2010 CAA Championships He took sixth-place on the 3-meter board (281.70) and was eighth on the 1-meter board (256.90). In addition to his strong showing at the conference championships, Cal swept both boards in dual meets against George Washington and Villanova and won the 1-meter dive in a dual against Rowan. He also reached the finals at the Terrapin Cup Invitational where he claimed eighth place on both boards.
