Philadelphia - Drexel's Candice Webb and Dana Haneman were selected to the first-ever All-Colonial Athletic Association Team in women's rowing as the duo led the Dragons to a third-place finish at the conference championships. The 2010 CAA Women's Rowing Championships took place on Sunday, April 25 at the Occoquan Reservoir in Fairfax Station, Va. as Buffalo won the second-ever CAA title awarded.
Webb and Haneman have been stalwarts in the the stroke pair of the varsity eight boat the last two seasons. Webb, a three-year varsity eight rower, has rowed in the stroke seat in both of Drexel's triumphs at the Bergen Cup Regatta the past two seasons. Haneman has been right behind Webb in the seven seat during both seasons as Drexel defended the Kelly Cup this season in what is known as the Philadelphia city championships among Dad Vail schools. Haneman, a junior, has been in the varsity eight since her arrival as a highly touted freshman in the 2007-08 season.
Webb, Haneman and the rest of the Dragons will return to the water on May 7-8 for the largest regatta in collegiate rowing, the Dad Vail Regatta.
