The Drexel women's soccer team begins the 2010 season on Sunday at Vidas Field in Philadelphia. The Dragons open the year against UMBC with a 1 p.m. kick-off. Follow the match on livestats by clicking here.
Drexel returns eight starters from last year's team, including the team's top seven scorers from a year ago. Junior Jenna Lindsay, a Third Team All-CAA performer, led the Dragons in goals in each of her first two seasons in University City. She has 15 career goals in her two years. Lindsay and Kim Chiarelli will be the team's captains in 2010. Chiarelli is a versatile player who can play both midfield and in the back. She was slowed by injuries in the past but is looking forward to a big season as a senior.
The Dragons end the month with a pair of games in Temple's tournament. Drexel plays Hartford on Aug. 27 and faces Niagara on Aug. 29.
