Philadelphia - For the first time in program history, the Drexel Field Hockey team is ranked in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association preseason poll. The Dragons garnered a ranking of 11, the highest among all Colonial Athletic Association schools. Defending national champion North Carolina is ranked first while Maryland, Drexel's first opponent of the season, begins the season ranked second in the country.
Drexel returns two former All-Americans for the first time in school history as Susan Ciufo and Christina Mastropaolo don Drexel uniforms for the final time in 2010.
