Senior Jasmina Rosseel led all scorers with 18 points in her final game as a Dragon. She also knocked down three three-pointers to match the team's single-season record, a mark that she previously set in 2009. The Dragons finish the season with a 19-13 overall record.
FGCU outscored Drexel 39-30 in the second half, erasing the Dragons' 37-34 halftime lead with an 8-3 run midway through the second half. Nicoya Jackson led the Eagles with 17 points off the bench. Kelsey Jacobson and Shannon Murphy added 15 points apiece to push their team's home court winning streak to 42 straight games and earn them a second-round home game against the Florida Gators on Sunday.
The Eagles entered the game averaging nearly 11 three-pointers per contest, to lead the nation. They finished 8-for-20 from deep and shot 50 percent from the floor in the second half. Drexel shot a blistering 53.3 percent in the first half, but when they fell behind in the second half, shots ceased falling, and the team finished by making just 10-of-33 in the stanza.
Drexel trailed by as much as nine points with three minutes left in the game, but were able to slice it to a four-point game when Rosseel drilled the 287th and final three-pointer of her career with 12 seconds left.
Murphy knocked down two free-throws after a quick Drexel foul and the Dragons missed two put-back layups in the final moments as time expired on their season.
The Eagles made 19-of-22 from the charity stripe, compared to Drexel's uncharacteristic 9-for-15 performance, which proved to be one of the lynchpins of their victory.

FGCU knocked the lid off the basket from long range at the 14:10 mark on a trey from Jacobson which ignited an offense-dominated 14 minutes of basketball for both teams.
Drexel took a 28-23 lead on a 10-2 run at the midway mark in the half. Mershon scored 10-of-14 points for the Dragons during a five minute stretch with Nacickaite on the bench. But the Eagles countered with a barrage of threes from Jacobson and Jackson.
The Dragons led 37-34 at the half thanks to 53.3 percent shooting from the floor and seven steals on defense. The Dragons used their size advantage to score 20 points in the paint. Rosseel's 12 points and Mershon's 11 led the Dragons at the break. Jacobson (11) and Jackson (10) were both in double figures for the Eagles who shot 45.8 from the floor and 4-of-9 from deep.
Rosseel finishes her Drexel career as the program's second all-time leading three-point shooter and she now holds both single-season records for threes (90). She is the first player in Drexel history to play on winning teams in four consecutive seasons and her combined win total in her four seasons in University City is more than any player who has donned the navy blue and gold.
