Former Drexel standout Jim Rullo has been named the head men's basketball coach at Neumann University. Rullo, who played at Drexel from 1990-94, had been the head coach at Malvern Prep since April of 2006.
Rullo won 20 or more games four times at Malvern Prep and won two consecutive Inter-Ac championships. He was an assistant coach for one season at Drexel before moving on to Malvern Prep.
While at Drexel, Rullo played for two 20-win teams, including the 1994 team that defeated Maine for the North Atlantic Conference championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. He led that team in assists. Rullo is still sixth on Drexel's all-time list in free throw percentage at .791. He set the school single-season record during the 1990-91 season by making more than 88 percent of his attempts from the charity stripe.
