BURLINGTON, N.C. – The sixth-seeded Drexel men's tennis team dropped its Colonial Athletic Association Championships quarterfinals match Friday afternoon to the third-seeded William & Mary Tribe, 4-0, at the Burlington Tennis Center. William & Mary advances to the CAA semifinals on Saturday with the win.
The Dragons finish out the 2016-17 campaign with a 13-8 (2-1 CAA) record, tying the single-season program mark for victories.
The Tribe jumped out to the doubles point, taking the third and the second spots, in that order, each by a score of 6-2. In singles, it was more of the same for William & Mary. Balaji Lakshmanan, who tied Omar Laalej for the program record for individual singles wins in a season (22), fell to Christian Cargill, 6-0, 6-2, followed by Hamza Laalej's 6-1, 6-1 loss to Aidan Talcott in the top spot.
