Squash Adds Theo Woodward to Staff as Assistant Coach

PHILADELPHIA – The Drexel Squash program has added Theo Woodward to the staff as an assistant coach, head coach John White announced Tuesday.
Prior to arriving at Drexel, Woodward spent five seasons as an assistant coach for Dartmouth's squash program. He helped coach the Big Green to two 10-win seasons in that span, and helped Dartmouth to its highest national ranking in program history (No. 4), including the program's first ever victory over Harvard and its first win over Princeton in Ivy League play. Woodward coached two All-Americans (Chris Hanson and Alvin Heumann), as well as the 2015-16 Ivy League Rookie of the Year, Carson Spahr.
Before Dartmouth, Woodward worked in the United Kingdom, running the Membership Department for England Squash and Racketball, the UK's governing body for the sport. Woodward holds the UK Coaching Certificate Level 3 certification, which until recently was the highest current qualification attainable in the UK. He has coached and mentored Professional Squash Association (PSA) and Women's International Squash Players Association (WISPA) players as well as junior internationals. Woodward has also worked with some of the best coaches in the world, including six-time de facto World Champion Jonah Barrington.
As a player, he was a key member of the British University and National School Championship-winning teams. Additionally, he has won a number of tournaments and played internationally on the Professional Squash Circuit.
Woodward studied Commerce at the University of Birmingham in the UK, graduating in 2008 with honors and a prize for his extended study on Squash Sponsorship.
