Justin Best to Represent U.S. at World Rowing Cup III

PHILADELPHIA – Drexel Rowing rising senior Justin Best has been selected to represent the United States at the World Rowing Cup III on the Rotsee in Lucerne, Switzerland on July 13-15. The World Rowing Cup III will be the final of three major opportunities for racing before the World Rowing Championships in September.
Best will be competing in the United States men's eight. He has rowed in the varsity eight at Drexel since beginning his collegiate career in the fall of 2015. In August 2015, Best competed in the United States eight at the World Rowing Junior Championships in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The World Rowing Cup series was launched in 1997 and consists of a series of three events. The overall World Rowing Cup winners are determined after the third event. This year, the three stages of the series are Belgrade, Serbia (June 1-3), Linz-Ottensheim, Austria (June 22-24) and Lucerne, Switzerland (July 13-15).

UPDATE (July 13, 2018): The United States eight finished second to the Netherlands in its heat Friday with a final time of 5:29.420 to the Netherlands' 5:28.060. The U.S. advances into Sunday's A final at 2:48 p.m. (CET).
UPDATE (July 15, 2018): The United States eight finished fourth overall Sunday at the World Rowing Cup III in Lucerne, Switzerland. Germany narrowly defended its title, followed by Australia and the Netherlands.
