The 1961 Women’s Field Hockey Team registered the only undefeated and untied season in Drexel history. Coached by former All-American Helen Callas Reiner, the Dragons won all seven matches that season and outscored their opponents by a 25-12 margin.
Marion Layton led the Dragons with 15 goals and was a First Team All-College performer as a sophomore. Barbara Gillis scored four times, while Judy Stradnick and Linda Mescanti added three goals and one goal, respectively. Nancy Layton, Stradnick, Anne Mansfield and Betsy Schneck were also All-College selections, while Carol Passo was an honorable mention All-College pick.
