John Carney was a four-year letterwinner in diving at Drexel from 1988 to 1992. He held the Drexel records for 3 meter diving (6 dives) and 3 meter diving (11 dives) until 2000. In 1992, Carney was named the North Atlantic Conference Outstanding Diver. He was also the NAC 3 Meter Diving Champion in 1992. Carney led Drexel to the 1991 East Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Championship by setting conference and championship records in the 1 meter semifinals, the 1 meter finals and the 3 meter finals.
