Johnson Bowie was the head coach of the men's soccer team from 1977-90. During his 14 seasons as the head coach, Bowie compiled a record of 127-89-16. His teams won the East Coast Conference championship on four occasions. Bowie was named ECC Coach of the Year three times and twice earned Philadelphia Soccer 7 Coach of the Year honors. He stepped down to become Drexel's men's athletic director when the school had separate departments for men and women. He was a fixture at Drexel for more than 40 years as a coach, administrator and athletic director.
