Kathy Gannon-Janaval was a member of four-consecutive conference championship swim teams at Drexel. As a senior, her team won its first-ever East Coast Conference championship. Gannon was a part of the 200-yard medley relay championship team and individually finished in second in the 50-yard backstroke and fourth in the 100-yard backstroke. In her junior year, Gannon qualified for the AIAW Division II Nationals in Idaho after leading the Dragons to a 9-1 dual meet mark. She was an AIAW All-America as a sophomore after individual second-place finishes in the 50- and 100-yard backstroke and as a member of the 200-yard medley team. Gannon earned College All-America honors as a member of the 400-yard medley relay team in her first season at Drexel. She graduated in 1983.
