Olga Assante Fort was a pioneer in women’s intercollegiate athletics at Drexel. She played on one of the first teams fielded in both field hockey and basketball. She was the leading scorer in field hockey as a junior and served as team captain as a senior.
The President of her class as both a junior and a senior, Assante Fort won the J. Peterson Ryder Award for overall excellence as a senior in 1934 before earning the Harriet E. Worrall Alumni/ae Award in 1971 for outstanding civic service. Mrs. Fort was also active in Drexel’s General Alumni Association, Women’s Alumnae Planning Board and Women’s Athletic Association.
