Wayne Huntsinger lettered for three years in football and two in track. On the gridiron, he was the 1969 West Philadelphia Lions Club Award winner as the top player in the city, an All-East College Division selection and set five school records. Huntsinger set the school mark for career receptions (60), receiving yards in a game (188) and in a season (39).
Huntsinger also made his mark in track. He set the school record in the long jump with a lead of 22 feet, one-half inch. He was awarded the Lt. Greene Award as Drexel’s Outstanding Graduating Athlete in 1971. Huntsinger also played rugby for the Whitemarsh Rugby Club from 1970-75, during which time he received an invitation to play for the 1972 Grand Slam Welsh (National) Rugby Side. He was also inducted into the Camden County Legends Hall of Fame.
