Bill Thayer was a three-year member of the men’s lacrosse team. A center midfielder, he helped lead his team to a 21-7 record during his career. He was named a First Team All-Star selection in the Penn Del league in each of his three seasons and earned First Team honors in the Laurie Cox Division in his last two seasons. He was also an Honorable Mention All-America in both 1957 and 1958.
A co-captain as a senior, Thayer led the Dragons to an 8-2 mark with career highs with 21 goals and 19 assists. He was a starter in the North-South All-Star Game that season. During his three varsity seasons, Thayer recorded 59 goals, and 45 assists. He was named to the Drexel Lacrosse 75th Anniversary Team.
