Drexel Lacrosse Announces the 1950's All-Decade Team

PHILADELPHIA - Eleven All-Americans highlight the Drexel University Lacrosse 1950's All-Decade Team. Each decade team was selected by the Drexel University Men's Lacrosse Committee.

Frank Arnold, Basil Barno, Carl Fugman, Randy Palmer, Al Rosenstein, Bill Schuette, Ted Schwaab, Edgar Stier, Bill Thayer, Dick Young and Zakar Zakarian all earned All-America status in the decade of the 1950s. Joining them on the team are Ray Craig, James Henry, William Huster, Ed Musuras, Henry Milligan, John "Ed" Moore, Ed Neuman, Charles Pascola, Dale Poe, Bill Shaughnessy, Rutger Van Zanten, Chuck Vincent, Ray Wagner, Ross Wise and Fred Yarling.

Drexel played the 1950s under head coach Herman "Eppy" Epstein for the entire decade. The Dragons finished .500 or better in nine of the 10 seasons and had a better than .600 winning percentage in five of those years.

The All-Decade teams are part of a celebration that will take place throughout the year. The 75th anniversary festivities will culminate in Drexel's final regular-season home game against Delaware on Saturday, April 22 at 3 p.m. The Dragons will wear throwback jerseys during the season-finale. The 75th anniversary team will be honored during halftime of the contest against the Blue Hens. The All-Decade teams will be recognized at the postgame reception.

A celebratory reception and dinner for the 75th anniversary will follow the conclusion of the game at the Vidas Athletic Complex from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Drexel Lacrosse letterwinners plus one guest will receive free admission to the game and reception.
