Buckley Field underwent a complete renovation and facility upgrade in the summer of 2017. The field's namesake, Bob Buckley, '58, serves as an active member of Drexel's Board of Trustees and is an integral part of Drexel culture. A former athlete himself, Buckley's success transitioned from student to professional in starting his own construction business, Buckley & Co., Inc. Buckley's spirited support for Drexel Athletics continued, as his name is branded on many of the athletic facilities throughout campus. Edelgrass took on the task of renovating Buckley field and has provided a brand-new artificial turf surface. In addition to the field, there were three new water cannons installed that ensure a top-quality playing surface. The design is simple yet modern, with a blue bordered surface encompassing the field. Players now have an updated bench structure with permanent shelter structures and an irrigation system.
