Drexel vs Penn State Wrestling Interest Form
The Drexel wrestling team will welcome defending national champion Penn State to the Daskalakis Athletic Center on December 5, 2025. The opening bout is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
This marks the first time the Nittany Lions will make an appearance in the DAC. Both teams have faced off just twice in their extensive history, with the Dragons traveling to University Park last season. The first match-up took place during the 2002-03 campaign.
Under the guidance of Mert ‘67 and Joanne ‘69 Hill Head Coach Matt Azevedo, the Dragons are no strangers to facing top-level competition. This past season, Drexel took down nationally ranked CSU Bakersfield and Cal Poly, while battling top-25 teams North Carolina, South Dakota State, and Penn. DU also holds victories over Big Ten foes Maryland, Michigan State, Northwestern, and Purdue during Azevedo’s tenure.
