Barbara Boyle Sullivan was one of the most decorated women athletes in the history of Drexel University. She won 12 letters in four sports. Boyle Sullivan played four years of basketball and field hockey and played two seasons on both the tennis and the softball teams.
Boyle Sullivan was just the second woman ever elected to the Hall of Fame. She won the Blazer Award, Drexel’s highest honor for a woman athlete. In addition, Boyle Sullivan won the Athlon Plaque Award for earning three letters in the same year. She won that award three times. During her years at Drexel, Boyle Sullivan was also active in the Women’s Athletic Association, serving as the secretary-treasurer and as the social chairman.
