Bruce Carter lettered four seasons in swimming at Drexel. He earned two Outstanding Athlete awards at Drexel and returned to his alma mater to serve as an assistant coach for six seasons. As a distance freestyle specialist, he won four East Coast Conference titles and was named the ECC’s Outstanding Swimmer as a senior. He was a two-time team MVP
After graduating in 1977, Carter won two national Mater’s titles and once held the age group’s 1650-yard freestyle national record. As a coach, he helped lead the Dragons to a 43-9 record and the school’s first ever ECC men’s championship in 1983-84 and was an assistant on three women’s conference championship teams.
