Charles Knapp lettered four seasons in baseball and football at Drexel. He also played three years on the basketball team before his graduation in 1936. Knpaa served as a captain of both the baseball and football teams.
After his stellar career in University City, Knapp went on play professionally in both baseball and football. He had the distinction of playing with both the Phillies and the Eagles. He advanced to the majors with the Phillies before being forced to retire due to injury. Knapp also played one year as a reserve halfback and quarterback with the Eagles.
