Eugene Hug was a three-year letterwinner in both baseball and football, and was a captain of both teams. On the football field, Hug set the school mark for passing yards in one game. He also still holds the record for the most touchdown passes in one game.
Hug, who graduated in 1955, received both the Varsity Club Award and the Lt. Thomas P. Greene Memorial Award as the Drexel’s outstanding senior athlete. The previous season, Hug was given the Sigma Alpha Mu Award as the top junior athlete.
