Ken Manahan was one of the most decorated track and field athletes in Drexel history. He was a finalist in the discus at the NCAA Championships in Austin, Texas and earned All-America distinction in 1980. He was a three-time East Coast Conference indoor champion in the shot put and won four outdoor titles in the shot put and discuss.
Manahan, the team’s MVP in both 1979 and 1980, was Drexel’s “Outstanding Varsity Athlete” as both a sophomore and a senior. He ended his career with Mid-Atlantic TAC indoor championships in the shot put and discuss. Manahan was also the first Dragon ever to win a Penn Relays individual championship (discus in 1977). Upon graduation in 1981, he held school record in the shot put (indoor and outdoor), hammer, javelin, 35-lb. weight throw and discuss.
