Murray C. Miller

Murray Miller came to Drexel in 1945 as a teacher and administrator in the Evening College. He became the school’s cross country coach from 1964-69 and was instrumental in reinstating the sport after a 30-year absence.
From 1971-75, Miller served as the chairman of the Department of Literature and Language in the Day College. From 1972-75, he served as chairman of the Faculty Committee on Intercollegiate Athletics and was Executive Secretary of the Drexel Alumni Dragon Club from 1975-85. He was the Assistant to the Director of Athletics for 10 years and took on the duties of Athletic Department Historian, compiling the history of Drexel from 1891-1971.
An honorary member of the Track & Field Coaches Association of Greater Philadelphia, Murray received that group’s 20-year service award in 1975.
