Phil Gottlick wrestled at 142 and 150-pound weight classes for Drexel from 1982-83 and 1985-86. Gottlick ranks second all-time in career falls with 26 while qualifying for three NCAA Tournaments (1983, 1985, 1986) Gottlick Posted 80 career wins, ranking 12th all-time at Drexel University and was a two-time Team Most Valuable Player as well as Most Outstanding Senior Athlete at Drexel 1986. Gottlick finished second at the 1982-83, 1984-85, 1985-86 ECC Championships and was the 1983 & 1985 F.C. Walton Award winner. Gottlick recorded the most pins in a season for Drexel with 11 during 1985 season.
Gottlick was the first Drexel wrestler to score points at the Division I NCAA Championship when he pinned the 8th seeded wrestler in 1983. During his tenure on the team, Gottlick was elected as Captain three times and was ranked second in total all-time wins with 80 when he finished competing. Gottlick was also a member of Drexel’s 1985 ECC Championship team.
