Regina Savini (Weir)

One of the finest swimmers in Drexel history, Savini was a three-time All-American from 1979-81 and was a member of four PAIAW championship squads.
Savini was the holder of six Drexel records entering her senior year, including the 50-yard freestyle. She was a member of the 1979 Drexel team that captured six first-place honors at the 34th Annual Intercollegiate Swimming Championships. She was personally responsible for three of those first-place finishes. Savini was a member of the 200-yard medley relay team that finished with a meet record time of 1:53.50 and qualified for the Small College Nationals in Nevada. She also won the 50-free and the 100-yard free which qualified her for the Small College Nationals in both events. Her 1979 team finished 2nd at the AIAW Small College National Championships and the 200- and 400-yard medley relay teams placed first at the AIAW Championships.
