
Women's Varsity Four Boat Finishes Fifth In Saturday's Semifinals

Philadelphia, Pa. - After pulling to a second-place finish in its opening heat on Friday, Drexel's women's varsity four boat finished fifth in the final of three semifinal heats on Saturday morning. The Dragons' boat crossed the line in 7:48.63, nine seconds ahead of Wichita State's varsity four boat and 11 ticks behind Buffalo's boat, its next closest competitor.
The varsity four boat earned a berth in the semifinal after finishing second place in the second heavyweight four heat on Friday. The Dragons' four pulled a time of just over eight minutes, which was more than five seconds better than the boat's next closest pursuant. Drexel's performance was the 12th best qualifying time for the semifinal race on Sunday.
