Philadelphia - The DAC Pack and Campus Activities Board (CAB) are proud to present "Midnight Madness 2009!" to be held on Thursday, October 22, 2009. This annual event gives students and fans of Drexel their first chance to see the men's and women's basketball teams for the upcoming year. The teams will participate in live scrimmages, dunk and three point shooting contests, and other activities throughout the evening. Fans who cannot attend, can watch all the excitement online by clicking here.
In addition to all the player events, the evening will also give all students in attendance the opportunity to win one of many available prizes. Up for grabs are a flat screen HDTV, a Sony Playstation 3 with a copy of NCAA College Basketball 2010 signed by the team, and a shot at $25,000 along with many other prizes.
The doors open early to season ticket holders as they are invited to the President's Suite at 7:00 to enjoy refreshments and to talk with coaches James "Bruiser" Flint and Denise Dillon of the men's and women's teams. Both Drexel coaches were named the CAA Coach of the Year for their respective sports in 2009.
Doors will open to students at 7:30. All people in attendance are invited to sign up for their free DAC Pack t-shirt and to register for the CAA Blood Drive in the North Gym, while free food and drink will be available in the South Gym.
This is the first year that CAB has been involved in the planning and funding of Midnight Madness. The partnership between CAB and the DAC Pack is something that will continue throughout the school year as the two organizations mutually plan, promote, and fund various events throughout the 2009-2010 school year.
