Dragons Stumble Against City Rival Temple

Philadelphia - Drexel split its matches at second and third doubles and the Dragons' duo of Zineb Hilali and Sonja Stosic seemed poised to close out a victory at first doubles, holding a 6-3 lead. But the tide quickly turned in that match as Temple came from behind for a win, which essentially stole the momentum in a 7-0 win for the Owls.

Gozde Unkaya and Elise Leizerovich recorded the lone win of the day for Drexel, defeating Josephine Bergman and Theresa Stangl 8-2 at second doubles.

The Owls won all six singles matches in straight sets, with the closest contest coming between Stosic and Stangl at third singles. Stangl eventually pulled out the 7-5, 6-4 victory.

Drexel is back in action this Sunday, Feb. 21 with a dual match at Lehigh. The women play at 10:00 a.m. and the men start at 2:00 p.m. in Bethlehem, Pa.
