Dragons Take Navy to the Ropes Before Falling 5-2

Philadelphia - Men's tennis lost a closely contested 5-2 match at Navy, falling to 3-5 overall on the season. Nikoloz Kurdadze and Manu Bajpai won at first and second singles for the Dragons and Bryan Nguyen and Mehdi Rhazali pushed their opponents to tie-breakers before falling.
Kurdadze's 6-2, 6-4 straight-set win over Owen Bullard brought the overall match score back to 2-1 in Navy's favor after the Midshipmen won the doubles point and took sixth singles in straight sets. Kurdadze is now 11-6 overall and 2-0 at first singles on the season.
Bajpai came up with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Marcus Rebersak at second singles to square the match at 2-2. But Navy would win the final three singles matches to clinch the victory. Bajpai is now 6-6 overall and 2-0 at second singles.
Bajpai and Kurdadze also teamed up to win Drexel's lone match in doubles and improve their record as a team to 2-0 on the season.
The Dragons are back in action on March 6 when they open CAA play against Hofstra with a dual match in Philadelphia.
