Dragons Take Top-Seeded Tribe to the Ropes Before Exiting CAA Tournament

Norfolk, Va. - In its final match of the 2010 season, the Drexel men's tennis team gave the number one seed William & Mary all it could handle before falling 4-0 in the second round of the CAA Tournament. Nikoloz Kurdadze and Manu Bajpai led their opponents at first doubles before the Tribe won the other two matches to clinch the team point. In singles play, At first singles, Kurdadze won the first set and was up 4-3 in the second against his opponent Keziel Juneau, the No. 80 ranked collegiate player in the nation, before William & Mary won at fifth singles to clinch the match and halt play. Bryan Nguyen split his first two sets and was even at 1-1 agaisnt Adrian Vodislav at fourth singles before the match ended. The men finished the season with a 7-8 overall record and a 2-3 mark in CAA matches.
Kurdadze, who was recently named to the All-CAA Third Team, turned in one of the top performances of the tournament thus far. He put down Keziel, an All-CAA First Teamer, 6-4 in the opening set and was up a break with a 4-3 lead in the second set when the match came to an end.
Nguyen bounced back from a 6-1 loss in the first set to best Adrian Vodislav 6-2 in the second. The two were at a 1-1 draw in the second at the time of the Tribe's clinch.
