Women's Tennis Ends Season With 4-0 Loss to Top-Seeded VCU at CAA Tournament

Norfolk, Va. - Drexel women's tennis closed out its 2010 season with a 4-0 loss to No. 1 Virginia Commonwealth in the second round of the CAA Tournament hosted by Old Dominion. The Rams won at second and third doubles to open the match and then clinched the win with victories at first, fifth and sixth singles. Gozde Unkaya battled Josefin Hjertquist in a tight 7-5 loss in the first set but was unable to finish the second when the Rams clinched the fourth, and deciding match at sixth singles.

Drexel was 9-7 overall this season and 2-3 in CAA matches. Elise Leizerovich led the Dragons with 12 singles victories on the season.
