Tennis Squads Conclude Fall with 7-0 Blankings of Rider

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - The Drexel men's and women's tennis teams wrapped up their fall seasons on Tuesday at Rider, with both Dragons squads defeating the host Broncs, 7-0. The two teams swept their three doubles matches before earning victories in each of the six singles matches.
On the men's side, Bryan Nguyen and Skyler Davis blanked their opponents at No. 2 doubles, 8-0. They were quickly followed by the No. 1 team of Badr Ouabdelmoumen and Nikoloz Kurdadze, winning 8-3, and the No. 3 team of Jeganathan Srinivasa and Daniel Hansen, who grabbed an 8-2 decision.
In singles, Ouabdelmoumen cruised to a victory at the top of the Dragons' ladder, 6-0, 6-0 over Rollie Malfitano. Davis also whitewashed his opponent at No. 4 singles. Nguyen at No. 3 and Paul Stauskas at No. 6 ceded a single game in their matches, with Nguyen winning 6-1, 6-0 and Stauskas finishing off a 6-0, 6-1 match victory.
Kurdadze knocked off John Spellman 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2 singles, while Hansen defeated Mike Gershon, 6-0, 6-2 at No. 5.
On the women's side, the Dragons allowed Rider just a single game in three doubles matches. Nicole Pivonka and Emma Brook took an 8-0 victory at No. 2, with Sonja Stosic and Alex Bell doing the same at No. 3. Zeynep Mafa and Marcela Rosales cruised to an 8-1 triumph at No. 1.
Singles play was just as dominant, with three players grabbing 6-0, 6-0 victories. Stosic, Bell and Aysenil Orhon each finished the spotless singles matches, playing at Nos. 4, 5 and 6 singles.
Mafa took the victory at the top spot, 6-1, 6-0 over Marly Roche. Rosales won by an identical score at No. 3, with Brook winning 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 to complete the victory.
