Men's Tennis Finishes Fall with 7-0 Win Over Rider

PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel men's tennis team ended its fall season with its only dual match of the season, defeating Rider at the Drexel Tennis Courts on Tuesday, 7-0. The Dragons swept all three doubles points, then won all six singles matches in straight sets to put a successful completion on a strong fall season.
The Dragons got off to a good start when their No. 1 doubles team, Skyler Davis and Alex Fioravante, got an 8-1 win, rolling to the victory with ease. They clinched the doubles point at No. 3, when Jeganathan Srinivasan and Tyler Pultro won by an 8-2 count. Drexel completed the sweep with a victory by Dan Koehler and Xabier Saavedra at No. 2 doubles.
In singles play, Koehler put together the most dominant of six generally strong matches. He blanked Rider's Matt Di Martino, 6-0, 6-0. Paul Stauskas and Jeganathan Srinivasan each won by 6-2, 6-0 counts. Junior transfer Tyler Pultro also ceded just two games in winning at No. 6 singles, 6-1, 6-1. Freshman Xavier Saavedra nearly matched that with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Drew Laverty, while Skyler Davis stepped into the top spot on the ladder and won, 6-1, 6-2.
