PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel women's tennis team completed a successful fall season on Tuesday when it put together a commanding performance in defeating Rider, 7-0. The Dragons let up just four games all told between singles and doubles play, earning their second dual match victory of the fall. Both came by 7-0 scores.
Playing at No. 2 doubles, Nicole Pivonka and Emma Brook got the Dragons on the board with an 8-0 whitewashing of Alexa Manforti and Jaclyn Giameo. Although Drexel had already clinched the doubles point due to Rider's inability to post a No. 3 doubles team, the Dragons put no doubt as to the winner when Zeynep Mafa and Marcela Rosales won at No. 1, 8-1.
Singles play saw three different players post perfect 6-0, 6-0 straight set victories. Mafa at No. 2, Pivonka at No. 3 and Brook at No. 4 all ceded no games to their opponents as the Dragons clinched the overall match.
