Dynda Competed at the 2012 USGA Open Qualifier

Middletown, Del. – Drexel University's Head Golf Coach Mike Dynda narrowly missed advancing through the 2012 USGA Open Qualifier held on the Back Creek Golf Course. Dynda of Blue Bell, Pa. tied for eighth place overall with a 74.

Dynda, playing his first competitive round of the season, kicked off action with bogeys on the second and third hole before penciling in pars on the fourth and fifth. On the sixth hole, Dynda recorded his first birdie followed by an eagle on the 11^th hole to get back into contention. "I knew when I chipped in on 11, that if I could finish strong, I'd have a chance to qualify,” said Head Coach Mike Dynda.

On the 12^th and 13^th hole, he had two sand saves in a row, but was set back after shooting a bogey on a long par three on the 14^th hole. "All in all, I am pleased,” stated Dynda. “Especially, since it was my first competition of the year, and first time since 2008 that I tried."
