Drexel Swimming and Diving Sweep Howard

Washington, D.C. - The Drexel men's and women's swimming and diving teams took home wins against Howard on Saturday. The men swept the Bison, 156-39, while the women won 128-62. Combined, the men and the women had an outstanding 20 first placed finishes out of 22 events.
Individual first place wins on the men's side came from David Boodey, Matthew Klotz, Joel Berryman, Mike Krohn, Kyle Lukens and Chad Schmidt. Krohn and Lukens collected two first place finishes on the day. The relay teams were also successful for the men as they swept the 200 medley relay as well as 200 free relay.
On the women's side, first place finishes included strong performances by Tina DeRusso, Brianna Bentz, Katie Duggan, Lauren Faykes, Jessica Gidzinski, Gizem Yali and Tori Graf. Bentz and Faykes posted two first-place finishes. Faykes also broke her second school record of the season as she swept the 400 IM by stopping the clock at 4:31.49. Former Dragon Heather Parry held the previous record, which was set at 4:32.45.
Drexel Swimming and Diving will be back in the pool on Saturday, February 2 at 1:00 p.m. at Lehigh.
