PHILADELPHIA - The Drexel men's squash team earned its highest-ever national ranking on Tuesday as the Collegiate Squash Association released its weekly Dunlop men's rankings. The Dragons, in just their third year as a varsity program under the direction of head coach John White, are currently ranked No. 15 in the nation.
The ranking comes on the heels of Drexel knocking off the previous No. 15 team in the country, Brown. The Dragons visited Providence last week and defeated the Bears, 5-4. Ben Bevan's five-set come-from-behind win at No. 8 provided the clinching point.
Drexel is 3-5 on the season. All five of the Dragons' losses have come to teams ranked ahead of them in the national poll. The Dragons' next match will be a stiff test as they take on the top-ranked team in the country, Trinity, on January 9 at the Kline & Specter Squash Center.
