Women's Tennis Defeats Towson, 4-3

TOWSON, Md. - The women's tennis team defeated Towson in a 4-3 decision, improving their record to 7-3 on the season.

Nicole Pivonka and Emma Brook brought home the only doubles win for Drexel, taking down the Tigers, 9-7. Towson took the doubles point, but the Dragons came back strong in singles play for the upset.

SIngles play proved to be the Dragon's strength, as No. 1 Zeynep Mafa took down her opponent, 6-3, 6-4. Nicole Pivonka then won her match, 6-4, 6-2, followed by Marcela Rosales, who battled to a, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3 win. Finally, Alex Bell finished off strong winning in a, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1, decision.

The women return to the court Saturday, March 16 for an away match against Hofstra, scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
