Crew Takes Five Races Sunday Against Bucknell and Lehigh

PHILADELPHIA – Drexel Crew returned to the water as the men and women travelled to Lewisburg, Pa. and the Susquehanna River on Sunday, Oct. 5 where they won five of six races against Lehigh and Bucknell.
The women's varsity eight finished ahead of Bucknell and Lehigh in the Marlene Buckley II boat. Drexel's men's varsity eight won in the Lois Krall boat in the same order as the women.
Both of the Dragons' second varsity eight boats beat both Bucknell and Lehigh. The women were in the Maria Papadakis boat, while the men were in the Joseph Greipp boat.
In the third varsity eight races, the men beat both Bucknell and Lehigh, and the women finished ahead of Lehigh and behind Bucknell for second place. The men were in the Vince Vidas boat, and the women were in the Marlene Buckley.
Bucknell finished seven points behind Drexel, the overall points champions, at the Dad Vail Regatta in May.
The Dragons will compete next at the Navy Day Regatta on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia, Pa. on Saturday, Oct. 11.
