Richmond, Va. – Five Dragons were named to the 2014 Colonial Athletic Association All-Conference teams, the league announced Wednesday evening. Melissa Chapman earned First Team All-CAA honors for the third-straight year, which marks the first time a Drexel women's soccer player has accomplished this feat. Senior Megan Hammaker earned a spot on the Second Team All-Conference, while junior Lauren Stollar received Third Team honors, Madison Dunn earned All-Rookie recognition and Alyssa Findlay was named to the All-Academic team.
Chapman returns to the First Team All-CAA after leading the Dragons through a season that resulting in their second playoff berth in program history. She tied for the team-leader in goals with five, which ranked seventh among conference opponents. Chapman now ranks eighth all-time in career goals scored for the Dragons. A four-year starter who now ranks sixth all-time in games played, she is also a two-time NSCAA Mid-Atlantic All-Region team member. Along with this, Chapman was named to the Philadelphia Inquirer Academic-All Area team last season and is a three-time CAA Commissioner's Academic Award recipient.
Hammaker earns the first all-conference honors of her career as she is named to Second Team All-CAA. She finished the season tied with Chapman for goals scored with five and led the Dragons in points with a career-high 14. Hammaker also recorded four assists on the season, which ties her for team-leader. She is now tied for fifth all-time for assists in Drexel program history and ranks seventh in school history for both goals and points.
Third Team honors for Stollar also marks her first career all-conference recognition. She set a career high for both goals and points this season and now is tied for ninth in program history for career goals. A two-time Commissioner's Academic Award recipient, Stollar was also named this year's Laura Meikle Koch Coaches' Award winner and was presented with a scholarship from the La Foundation.
Dunn was recognized for a standout freshman season after playing in all but one game for the Dragons. She scored Drexel's first goal of the season in their victory over Villanova and then went on to earn a goal and an assist against William & Mary in what turned out to be the Dragons' first victory over the Tribe on William & Mary's home turf in Drexel program history. She also added an assist in Drexel's win over George Washington.
Findlay, who received Third Team honors in 2013, was recognized as a part of this year's All-Academic squad. Findlay tied Hammaker for the team-leader in assists with four, which ranked seventh amongst conference opponents. She recorded a career-high four assists this season and is now tied for third all-time in Drexel program history. Findlay is also a three-time CAA Commissioner's Academic Award winner.
