PHILADELPHIA- The Drexel men's and women's swimming and diving teams were defeated by Lehigh today in their Senior Day meet. The women ended the day with a score of 131, to Lehigh's 163, while the men were defeated 157-139.
Both the men and the women kicked off the day in usual Dragon fashion. For the women, Katie Duggan, Rachel Bernhardt, Brianna Bentz, and Aubrey Murray took first in the 400 medley with a time of 3:55.85. Followed by the men, Joel Berryman, Chad Schmdt, Kyle Lukens, and Alex Chialaistri, who stopped the clock at 3:25.52 and placed first.
The next win for the women came in the 200 free, when Murray touched the wall in 1:53.45. Bernhardt followed close being in the 100 breast, as she swam past the competition with a time of 1:06.33. In the 200 breast, Bernhardt kept at it as she stopped the clock in 2:25.94 and took first. Bentz won her first individual swim of the day in the 100 fly with a time of 58.78.
For the men, Lukens brought home the next win for the Dragonsd when he swept the 100 back in 52.04. In the 100 breast, Schmidt swam to first with a time of 59.23. Andrew Reimon hopped in the pool for his first win during the 200 breast, where he took first in 2:09.40. Lukens came back with his second win in the 100 fly with an outstanding time of 50.61.
On the boards, Madison Kramer and David Sanchez worked their magic and swept both the 1 and 3 meter dives. Kramer scored a 234.98 and a 294.45 respectively in the 1 and 3, while Sanchez collected a 263.40 and 316.58 respectively.
The men's and women's teams will compete in their last invite of the season at the Cavalier Invitations, scheduled to begin on Thursday, February 7.
