PHILADELPHIA - Drexel women's squash players Kiran Vasdevan and Kaitlyn Money were named to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Academic All-Area Women's At-Large Team, it was announced on Monday morning. The pair from Drexel trailed only Temple's four members of the squad for the most by any city school.
Vasudevan earned five individual victories, all down the stretch as the Dragons earned a No. 14 national ranking and got a spot in the Kurtz Cup at the CSA Team Championships. A junior chemical engineering major, Vasudevan has a 3.94 grade point average. Money, who led the team with 11 victories on the year, won nine of those during the 2014 calendar year as the Dragons won eight of their final nine regular season matches to earn their Kurtz Cup berth. Money also had two individual victories in the Kurtz Cup. A sophomore electrical engineering major, Money has a 3.52 grade point average.
The women's squash duo were not the only Dragons honored by the Inquirer on Monday, as men's squash senior Justin Singh was named the Academic All-Area Men's At-Large Performer of the Year, and wrestling sophomore Kevin Matyas was also named to the team.
