Men's and Women's Tennis Conclude Play at CAA's

RICHMOND, Va. - On Friday, April 18 the men's and women's tennis squads faced their CAA Championship competitors in quarterfinals. The men's team was defeated by #4 James Madison, 4-0, and the women fell to #3 William and Mary, 4-2.
In men's doubles play, Skyler Davis and Dan Koehler were the only Dragons able to take down James Madison in an, 8-5 decision. The Dukes closed out the team victory by sweeping the top three singles flights.
On the women's side, the Dragons dropped their first match, but at No. 2, Nicole Pivonka and Erin Bowsher were able to push through their opponents for the, 8-2 win. The doubles point was then decided in dramatic fashion at No. 1, where Zeynep Mafa and Marcela Rosales rallied past the Tribe, 8-6, to put the Dragons ahead 1-0. In singles play, Bowsher gave Drexel their next and last point of the match when she defeated her opponent, 6-4, 6-1. William and Mary managed to beat out the Dragons at No. 1 through four before ending the match with a, 4-2, final score.
