Boston, Mass. – Rodney Williams scored a career-high 23 points, but Northeastern's hot start was too much as the Huskies (14-13, 6-8 CAA) defeated Drexel, 70-60 at Matthews Arena on Saturday afternoon. Drexel (3-22, 1-13 CAA) had one of its best shooting games of the season, but fell for the 10th-straight time.
Drexel trailed by as many as 19 points in the game, but mounted a comeback in the second half and made it a game. The Huskies always kept the Dragons just out of range as Drexel was unable to get closer than eight points the entire second half. Drexel went inside often to Williams in the second half, and the junior was 4-for-5 from the floor during that time.

David Walker and Quincy Ford combined for 24 points and had six of the teams' nine treys between them in the half.

Sophomore Sammy Mojica, playing in front of numerous fans as he returned to his hometown, added 13 points and drained three three-pointers. Terrell Allen handed out five assists and played the entire game. He was able to get into the lane and get his teammates good shots as Drexel was able to score 28 points in the paint.
Walker led NU with 21 points and five assists. He had five three-pointers in six attempts. Ford added 16 points, five rebounds and four assists. Each team shot 52 percent in the game, but foul shooting and three-point shooting helped make the Huskies victorious. Northeastern made 15 of its 18 attempts, while Drexel struggled from the line. DU was only 1-for-7 in the first half and finished the game at 44 percent (7-for-16). The Huskies made 11 of its 21 three-pointers overall.
The Dragons return to Philadelphia where they will play three of their final four regular-season games. That stretch begins on Thursday night when Elon visits the Daskalakis Athletic Center.
