Men's Crew Begins Journey Ahead of Henley Royal Regatta

HENLEY-ON-THAMES, England – After a successful season which featured a fourth consecutive Dad Vail Regatta overall title, Drexel Crew's men have arrived in Henley-on-Thames, England where they will compete at the Henley Royal Regatta on the River Thames.
The Dragons will begin on Friday at 5:15 p.m. (12:15 p.m. ET) as the pair will attempt to qualify for competition at Henley. The Henley Royal Regatta will officially begin on Wednesday and run through Sunday, July 3. Drexel will also race a four and an eight.
This 2016 trip to Henley will be just the second time ever Drexel has sent an eight across the pond to compete at this event. In 2012, Director of Rowing Paul Savell guided the first Drexel eight to the Henley Royal Regatta.
The Dragons will have a packed schedule while in England. Following Friday's qualification event for the pair, the team will gather for an event to watch the unveiling of the Henley draws on Saturday. On Monday, the team will take a tour of Oxford University's historic campus and boathouse before enjoying dinner its campus. The beginning of the Henley Royal Regatta on Wednesday will be followed by a team dinner.
